![]() ![]() Or maybe I'll get a PPQ but I really liked the DA/SA trigger. Gave it to a good friend thinking I'd just pick up another, then they were featured in the Bond film, went from about $400 to $600 almost overnight, and I lost allot of interest, and put it on the someday list, the last few I've seen have been a little lower so maybe someday will be soon. ![]() The PPQ is just the latest and greatest version of the P99 that does have a lighter trigger pull out of the box and is in my opinion quite a bit more ergonomic. As for the P99 To put it simply it is a striker fired SA/DA pistol for lack of better terms. Bought mine for $360ish new, because I liked the feel in the store, wanted a 9mm, and Walther is an old name in firearms, shot it, loved it, ridiculously easy to shoot very accurate. I will say that they are very affordable for a Walther. ![]() My guess is they would've caught on if they'd stayed cheap. I own two now, and will pick up another when a deal come along. Perfect combination of trigger, size, egonomics, and quality. Great guns, aren't they? I have been surprised over the years that the P99 never caught on more than it did. On your subgun ammo, had you been training or in a defensive situation, I'm guessing you would still be tap/rack/banging. I have been known to use skateboard grip tape to get the super tacky grip I prefer. I might very well be an outlier on the grip texture. If I ever have the same problem with the P99, I can simply pull the trigger again. It was a pain in the ass doing this 2000 times. My Glock wouldn't ignite the primers, so I had to recock the slide to get them to fire. Not a lot, but just enough to make my skin itch ever so slightly after a couple of hours of contact.Īs far as re-strike ability, a few years ago my Pa gave me a couple thousand rounds of sub-gun ammo. The grip texture of the PPQ scruffed my flesh. If the P99 had the grip texture of the PPQ, it would be the pefect pistol IMO. ![]()
